History

during the 1930’s it was discovered that UV-C light could be
used for disinfection by killing microorganisms. Since then,
hospitals and other medical facilities have been using UV-C
light as part of their routine cleaning. Science has come a
long way with the advancement from bulb-based UV-C lights to
UV-C LED chips. UV-C light uses short-wavelength ultraviolet
adiation to effectively kill microorganisms by penetrating the
cells and damaging the nucleic acids within. This renders bacteria
and viruses inactive and unable to survive. UV-C light also goes
by UV Germicidal light (UVGI) because of this effect.
